Hilton's Book Fair (in conjunction with Holiday Shoppe)
Dear Parents and Families:
Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most.
We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives.
Our Scholastic Book Fair theme – All-Star Book Fair: Every Reader Is a Star! – is part of an exciting reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose their own books will motivate them to read more. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they’ll get.
Reading is vital to every child’s success, and raising kids as readers means getting involved while they’re young. Now is the time. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct involvement in his/her child’s education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair. Hope to see you there!
Online Book Fair. If you’re all booked up during Book Fair (or just want to keep shopping), be sure to visit the Book Fair online at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/hiltonelemschool. The online Book Fair is available for an extended time: November 21st to December 10th, 2012.
All for Books™ Program. This year, one of our goals is to ensure as many children as possible receive books and have access to books. One of the ways we can do that is through the Scholastic All for Books™ program. With your help, all of the money collected goes to purchasing more books. Not only does your donation help, but Scholastic Book Fairs will match monetary donations raised with a donation of up to one million books to two non-profit organizations dedicated to helping children, families, and teachers acquire books and educational resources - Kids In Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.
All money collected goes directly to purchase books for our school!
Please take a moment to donate $1 or loose change, and sign the book slip with your child’s name. All signed book slips will be displayed at our school and will receive an entry in our drawing. All book slips must be handed in by Friday, December 7th (am) to be put in our drawing. Winners will be announced Monday December 10th.
Don't forget about Holiday Shoppe. It will take place in the Hilton Gym at the same time as our Book Fair. There are tons of great gifts for children to purchase for family members, friends and pets. Visit the Holiday Shoppe website.

Who Are We?
The Hilton PSO (Parent-School Organization) is a group of parents and teachers who work to support the school by organizing events, providing recognition to students/teachers, coordinating volunteer efforts in the school, and raising money for special school projects. Our goal is to enhance the education of each student at Hilton.
